Cycle of Ambiguity
Dr. Felt’s famous Cycle of Ambiguity refers to that frustrating ambiguity-fueled avoidance, where we constantly find ourselves avoiding the stuff we really need, and sometimes even want to do!
Who We Are
Clinical Director
Dr. Nachi Felt, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and professor at Columbia University’s Teachers College, where he trains future clinicians to understand how emotion and attention shape human behavior. At Columbia’s Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, he conducts research at the intersection of motivation, executive functioning, and emotional regulation.
Dr. Felt is best known for developing the Cycles of Clarity, a practical framework that helps people break free from avoidance and anxiety by turning insight into action. His work bridges neuroscience, behavioral design, and clinical psychology to make self-regulation skills accessible to everyone—from students and parents to educators and executives.
A sought-after speaker and consultant, Dr. Felt helps organizations apply the science of resilience, focus, and self-efficacy to improve performance and wellbeing. His teaching and keynotes are known for blending scientific depth with humor and humanity, empowering audiences to take back their minds and their momentum.
He hosts the podcast “ADHD on Fire,” where he shares real stories and evidence-based tools for managing attention, motivation, and overwhelm. He has lectured at Yale University, NYU, and conferences nationwide, inspiring professionals and parents alike to see ADHD not as a flaw to fix—but as a pattern that can be understood and mastered.
In his new book, Clearheaded, he blends cognitive science, behavioral design, and narrative therapy to help high-achieving adults with ADHD reclaim clarity and direction.
Dr. Felt lives in New York City with his family and an ever-growing library of half-read books.
What We Do

Dr. Felt is renowned for his expertise in effective ADHD management and Executive Functioning (EF) skill training.
He provides in-person or virtual consultations and coaching for parents, individuals, couples, and institutions.
Dr. Felt currently only offers ADHD/EF coaching, which is not therapy and is therefore not often covered by insurance.
